Milly's journey

Today was moving day for Milly. I felt a lot like Judas, having carefully got her used to travelling in the lorry that would take her away from all familiar human and horse companions.
We all did reasonably well. I travelled in the lorry, reassured by glances at the cctv screen where I could see Milly, ears pricked up but calm. She was pretty confused to walk out into a totally different setting: the flat fields of a large N Yorks farm, so different from a small N Sheffield hill farm.
She was greeted with delight - and a pink head collar! - by a 13 year old girl and her mum. She'll be joining the young rescue mare they already have, hopefully to enjoy fun outings together. Fingers crossed.
It has been hard to let go, but unavoidable now, with increasing needs for granny duties.
