The Photographer's Crouch

I was crouched down the other day, taking a picture in just this way, when some fellow asked me why he was always seeing photographers adopt this position.  I couldn't actually give him a sensible answer.

I'm beginning to feel self-conscious now. E is building up a portfolio of shots of me looking like a right idiot, crouched down in various fields, stalking the solitary trees. It just comes naturally.
