Retrospective .Shugborough Estate.

We had a lovely day yesterday at Shugborough. The estate and mansion which formerly belonged to The Earl of Lichfield.
It is now run by the National Trust.
The last Earl to live there being Patrick
the famous photographer.
I’ll add a link.
I took so many photos that I simply had to share one today.
We had a 4 mile walk through the Estate passing the presently closed up Mansion. The photo is of the Chinese Bridge.
Autumn colours now very evident. I loved every minute of the peace and stillness. We ate a sandwich lunch at the Tea Room, sitting outside.
Thankyou for all of you who left comments and hearts on my blip of Matthew yesterday.
Finished off the day with a G&T along with a “virtual” meeting on WhatsApp with Chris’s sister Carol, and his closest friend Lois who were having a glass of wine, and another friend.
Stephen joining in with his usual banter!
A long chat with our other son Alan afterwards, also about to share a glass in Matt’s memory with Jen.
We are rushing down to Bristol on Saturday, tomorrow, to see the family once again, in their local park. then the garden, ahead of the latest Government ban on meetings indoors and out, of groups consisting of more than 6 people which comes into force on Monday. This time people will be fined if they do not comply. How on earth the Police will manage that is anybody’s guess!
Our son and wife already a group of six, which means we simply cannot see the whole family at any one time for who knows how long.
Living at 100 miles distant and waiting for Stephen’s next major operation makes it so hard. As we will both have to self isolate for two weeks then beforehand once he has a date. (His Consultant said end of October beginning of November, unless the obvious elephant in the room intervenes!)

I know we are not the only ones who suffer with this, and some you have children in other countries. My sister’s younger son lives in Sydney, Australia.
(If you have to quarantine there when you arrive you are bussed out to a hotel and have to pay the expense yourselves! )
The Government lurches from one thing to another with such breathtaking speed it’s hard to keep up.
Anyway, enough of that.
(I wish it was!!!)
We are not dealing with raging out of control fires, lack of rain and power outages like Oregon and California to mention a couple.
Thankful to live in a green well watered land and beautiful places not far away, yet unexplored.
