Retrospective Reflections.

Another photo from our time at Shugborough on the 10th.
A small river flowing through the Estate to join the River Trent at the outer edge.
We should have been going to Bristol today.
But our son phoned last night concerned about the latest restrictions about to be imposed here on Tuesday, due to a rise in COVID in Birmingham.
Although we are on the outer edge and most of the spikes are in the South and West of the city.
So our get together, albeit in their local park, has been cancelled.
Then with the new Rule of Six due for England on Monday it was a double whammy.
We have seen the grandchildren twice since the original March lockdown.
Alan said to his dad he didn’t want to cancel as he knows it means we may probably not see them till Christmas now, if then. But they didn’t want to take the risk really.
I’ve been awake now since 3.45am, unable to get back to sleep.
I guess it came at the end of a week which was always going to be more emotional.
So I’ve been sitting here on the settee reading blips and having a cup of tea with a biscuit.
Looking at how others are having to deal with similar circumstances and also tough times helps to put things into a bit of perspective.
