Dobby Loom

A couple of back blips I'm afraid.
This is a George Wood Dobby Loom that i got to have a go on at college. It's about 9ft high and has a weaving width of about 16". It works by using a peg system that pushes levers to lift the shafts that control the patterns. It's more straightforward than it looks and I got to help set it up and get weaving on it. It was interesting to weave on, but I don't think I'd want one of my own as it's a bit physically demanding.
It was a good day at college as we got to go through each others work and see how we'd each done. We also got our next project brief, which should be interesting. It's just scary how short the time-span is before we go back.
