Stones for Skimming

Highlight of the day was a superb Alentejano lunch at Cecílio and Ermelinda's house, with a couples' group from Lisbon. Cecílio is such a good cook; the pork with chestnuts was too good. That's in the extra. After Tuesday, we won't be allowed to have more than ten people together.

After a nap, Paul drove us to Mourão's beach, where he and Karis stayed to swim, and Mike and I went off to Reguengos to get the obligatory Sunday croissants for tomorrow. When I went back to fetch them, the beach was almost deserted, and they were looking for stones to skim. We hadn't seen the beach this year; utterly dismayed to see how large it has become, with the water having gone so low.

Gratefuls:
- friends who love my family
- Julia having a good day at a friend's wedding, granddaughter of an old friend of Mike's
- all of us sleeping well last night, Paul in a hammock and Karis in the caravan
