Smoky View

Our drive home from Sunriver was very smoky and really eerie. It was supposed to be hot today, but the smoke has kept temperatures down and given everything a foggy sepia kind of look. This is midday with no clouds, just smoke.  I walked to the mailbox and wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. It’s just too smoky.  Fires are still raging everywhere and tens of thousands of people have  been evacuated. Rain is forecast for Monday, so hopefully that will make a big difference.
Grateful for...a fire in the fireplace. It’s cold with such a heavy blanket of smoke shielding the sun. After reading this over I guess it’s ironic that I am grateful for a fire in the fireplace with so much damage done by fires all over our state!  A CONTAINED fire is best.
