Life through the lens...

“Gotta Dash”

“Gotta Dash”
The name of this wonderful mural painted on the old Lifeboat Station, Porthleven.
Painted by local urban artist, “ Sketch” it depicts well known local characters as Lifeboat men.
The mural’s name is a respectful nod to Porthleven ‘s last Lifeboat “ DASH” 1926 - 1929.

Porthleven wasn’t too busy when we arrived at 10 am this morning, and we parked easily.
Lots of little stalls setting up along the harbour.
Had a nice walk round, and sat by the harbour with a coffee watching the boats going in and out.

Then on to The Fire Engine at Marazion for Sunday lunch.
Wasn’t disappointed. All good old traditional grub. Lovely Yorkshires, lamb, and 6 vegetables. ( Booked again for next Sunday.)

Drove on into Marazion where we parked for the rest of the afternoon. Chairs out and sat by the beach watching the world go by with a lovely view of St Michael’s Mount.
Before driving back we walked into the town, had a look in the craft shop windows, and had a delicious ice cream sat by the little harbour.
( mine a vanilla, black currant, with Cornish cream.yummy!)

It has been a wonderful and enjoyable day.
Just can’t believe the weather. Blue sky and sunshine 22C. Perfect.
Never seen Cornwall like this since we used to bring the children.
Just lovely to see everyone on the beach, in the sea, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
Who needs to go abroad, and certainly most people haven’t this year.

Extra collage.
Top three photos of Porthleven,
Centre photo Marazion beach.
Bottom three the view from our lunch table,
Pampas grass and blue sky,
and a cobbled pathway made of pebbles from the beach.
