Early evening at Hampton Pier near Herne Bay

Plans for the first day with Barbara and David, were pushed awry with an incident with Doreen which required the attendance of the district nurse for some remedial action. One good thing came out of the incident when the district nurse said she needed a hospital type bed and she would order one and it would be with us in only a few days!

When we finally got going at 1.00pm we hit a huge jam on the M2 east owing to accidents with the alternative route chockablock with traffic meaning the 45 minute journey to Herne Bay (Hampton Pier - more precisely) took twice as long. We were starving by the time we arrived at 2.45 immediately scoffing lunch.

Restored, we walked towards Herne Bay itself and to its stumpy pier which has, amongst its other attractions a very agreeable café where we topped up on a cream tea which was very good.

We forced ourselves to walk through Herne Bay and out the other side before turning to retrace our steps back to the car. The weather, as you can see, was glorious with lovely sunshine and a cooling breeze. The house felt warm when we got home.

This was the last shot of the day of the setting sun which had a sunspot on it until I discovered in MS Photos a tool called Spot Fix which instantaneously removed it. I thought I'd include an extra of the drying harbour for Legodude who likes these sorts of things. And while I'm here, thanks to Sketchphoto who has been very generous with his hearts and as the comments are off, I can't thank him though his own journal, which I enjoy very much. Thank you.
