The Rock Pool

We decided to have a bit of an easier day today after the motorway driving of yesterday.  The main Cofton camp is a mile or so away from where we are staying.  You can walk there through the woods, but it is a long, steep climb and Ann thought it better we drove there, thinking of my health, of course, and what she would do if I collapsed in the middle of a forest, well not really a forest, but still.

Anyway we had spotted Amelias when we checked-in yesterday.  It is their main 'club house', a large restaurant/bar with a sun terrace overlooking the outdoor swimming pool (not currently in use), though the inside one was open for mothers and youngsters (maybe that should be mothers with youngsters?).  So we decided to go there for morning coffee (as there doesn't appear to be a Nero in Dawlish Warren).  The weather was very pleasant and coffee stretched into lunch, of which they delivered admirably.  I felt very comfortable,  there were no crowds and the place was so large everyone was safely distanced.

So eventually we decided we needed some exercise, though Ann had been out before the crack of dawn exploring the countryside.  So we went to the Dawlish Countryside Park for a bit of a walk before taking the car to the beachside car park where we walked along the promenade.  Dawlish Warren has a very long beach, I suppose that's why it's such a draw to holidaymakers who were stripped off warming under the sun or splashing about in the sea.  Though again people were being very sensible with their distancing.

Then back to the apartment to sort photos (me) and read a book in the gardens (Ann).  This particular picture stood out, especially after I'd processed it.  So it is today's choice.
