Late Nectar

Another very warm day.

The most attractive plants to pollinating insects in our back garden at present, from top left clockwise :

* the first ivy flowers seem to be particularly attractive to wasps and greenbottles. They will go on flowering for some time
* the sunflowers continue to bloom, and are as ever attracting the local bees
* the sedum is now flowering, attracting leaf cutter bees in particular
* and we have two bean plants growing, one more advanced than the other. That’s a one out of ten success rate. A bit late for beans to develop, although the presence of bees is encouraging
