Life through the lens...

Up the creek.

Our favourite walk is the one which starts in the tiny picturesque village of Helford, along the Helford River, and through the ancient woods along Frenchman’s Creek, made famous by Daphne du Maurier in her book of the same name.
A very secretive place. The ancient overhanging trees cast shadows, and create a timeless and romantic atmosphere.

I have made a collage of the walk including an interesting weathervane.
However the photo we both liked best was the one taken at Penarvon Cove. The gorgeous little cottage right by the riverside.
What an idyllic spot if you like total isolation.
The group of pink flowers are
Amaryllis Belladonna. Common name Jersey Lilly. Beautiful Autumn flowers.

Again clear blue sky and 22C. The wind was quite strong, but we were sheltered.
Peaceful with just the sound of the birds, including a curlew feeding in the mud, as the tide was out.

Finished with a delicious crab sandwich from the delightful little cafe called Holy Mackeral as it is housed in the old chapel building.

Another fabulous day. Just can’t believe our luck!
