A Grand Day Out

Lovely, calm, relaxing quiet day at ErddigNT today. Gorgeous warm weather, with a hint of a cooling breeze dowsing the heat of the sun. The gentle buzz of bees dusting their bodies in pollen, the rustle of feathers as ducks take to water and the call of the moorhens wading through the reeds.
Walking through the woodland listening to the soft sounds of leaves falling and the 'plick' sound of acorns as they hit the ground. The rustle of undergrowth as a squirrel enjoys the piece and quiet. The snicker of horses as they watch your approach checking for treats.
Recognising where you are when you hear water and realise the last time you walked to the cup and saucer it was so muddy it was impossible to walk on.
Such a peaceful, reflective walk around parts of Erddig we have worked on, gates and fences, woodland planting, field strimming and horse chasing. Wondering when, note when, not if, we will be able to get back to our Volunteer roles, our #volunteermondays
Keeping our fingers crossed and will continue to visit our special place.
