By Royal Appointment

When it all got too much for Her Majesty the Queen Mother, this is where she headed for.  Spending summer months in the Castle of Mey would be enough to test anyone.  So to escape the crowds in Caithness she headed for Grindalay House, her Orcadian bolt hole.
Our previous neighbour (who was ages with HM) used to wait on her whilst she was in residence.  She spoke fondly of her and said HM was always very gracious and had a great sense of humour.  Apparently, she was never desperate to get back to Caithness.

There again – is anyone?
