Auld Brig O'Doon

Couldn't put it off any longer, today we did Burns in Alloway.

Extra photo 1 is the Burns Memorial, opened in 1823, which we visited after the Auld Brig which began our tour, as I wanted to catch the light on the bridge while there was some sunshine on it. I was disappointed to find that access to better viewpoints is on private land.
We had a good lunch in the museum cafe before tackling the exhibits, some displays very interesting to those of us who sing A Rosebud By My Early Walk or Flow Gently Sweet Afton, even Ye Banks And Braes.. to see original manuscripts . But why were the audios so loud, what with those and small noisy children and some poor social distancing I found it hard to give the displays full attention.
We took a swift walk through Burns' Birthplace, a quick snap of the exterior with its closed shutters and left.

There, done that, time to go paddle in the sea, get back to base and think about packing.

Extra 2, the view of Arran from the lounge window.
