a lifetime burning

Swinford Lock and Weir

Another evening walk shot, this one taken at Swinford Lock, you can just see a canoeist bottom left trying to work out what the mad photographer was up to.

A little further on and we passed the film crew that have been working locally over the past few days.  They are filming series two of a crime drama for ITV but as we've not seen an episode we are none the wiser really.  Today they had a large crane from which they were hanging a balloon basket.  Clearly something interesting happens involving a balloon flight.  We were able to see the crew at work, but largely that seemed to consist of a long huddled conversation followed by people moving around but not really doing much.  After 10 minutes we got bored and moved on, long before there was any sign of any video actually being shot.  Judging from what little we saw of it, the film industry looks much like lots of other jobs - long periods of boring inactivity followed by a few moments of high tension.  :-)

In other news, having been quite vocal about there not being a second UK lockdown and everything being fine for Christmas Boris has now (true to form) started his U turn and I think that we can accordingly confidently predict that we will all be subject to a lock down for a couple of weeks at least in October ....
