A little Peacock

A wonderful day .... warm and sunny ..... and off to Dumfries House Estate we went.

A visit to the Walled Garden was our primary objective in the hope of finding some butterflies. We certainly weren't disappointed. I saw dozens of Red Admirals and Small Tortoiseshells but only one Peacock nestling in the centre of a dahlia ..... almost but not quite camouflaged.

The first extra is for friend J .... I think this is a Common Darter but it is pretty well camouflaged on the gravel. The second is a small fountain in the centre of one of the ponds.
