Tarbert, Loch Fyne

East Loch Tarbert in Kintyre is the small offshoot of Loch Fyne which forms the village’s sheltered harbour, used since earliest times to exploit the link between the Firth of Clyde, the West Coast and the Western Isles.  Less than a mile of land prevents the whole of Kintyre from being an island. It is still has a small  fishing fleet and is a centre for sailing in its sheltered waters.
