Along the River

Cycled along the towpath from Teddington Lock to Hampton Court early this morning 8.15 am. Busy on the towpath and on the river. I did a count of cyclists and runners coming towards me - 24 runners, 25 leisure cyclists( those on road bikes were whizzing over Kingston Bridge and going on the tarmac out to the Surrey Hills. ) On the river in this stretch there were 16 racing canoes, 24 boats with rowers, 2 skiffs and 1 kayak. Also there were 14 fishermen. Lots of walkers too but did not count them. The canoeists all seemed to be from the Royal Canoe Club on Trowlock Island which has produced Olympic medal lists and the majority of the rowers were from Kingston Rowing Club. The two skiffs were from the Thames Ditton Club one is in the extra at Hampton Court Bridge.
