King of the castle

Lots of kids running around with crowns on their heads and many with swords and shields, I am guessing some sort of event before we arrived or perhaps a sale I the castle shop.
Nice drive across lovely countryside to get to Chirk and the campsite is just outside the castle grounds so we had lunch and then off for a walk up to the castle and back. Nice weather and not too busy, apart from just in front of the castle. As the weather forecast is good for the next few days we intend to do some walking in the area as it seems to have a lot to offer in terms of walks. We have had the camper five years and I used the oven for the second time today and that was only to warm some savoury scones to have with dinner.
