Miya + water

Ridgeway State Park surrounds this manmade reservoir. The gentleman working the entrance gate supplied us with the following information: The dam was completed and the lake filled for the first time in 1990. At its peak around July 4 each year, the lake is 150 feet deep. Depending on the summer weather, the water level continuously drops as farmers in the valley draw water for irrigation and to fill ponds for livestock. In 2018 the lake did not fill due to lack of snow in the surrounding mountains but in 2019 if was "many" feet over its normal. The lake is used all summer for recreational purposes.
Around the peak from where we were, there is a large marina. We saw swimmers, skiers, paddle boarders, and fishermen in the hour we spent there.
