Managed to complete the Virtual Chester Half Marathon this morning at 1hr 45min. Two minutes off my PB, but way better than last week's effort of 1hr 56min. It was much cooler today and the route was much more enclosed/shaded. What should have taken place last April was supposed to happen today but was cancelled again because of Covid. Today was the deadline for the "Virtual Chester Half Marathon". Not quite the same buzz as the real thing but there were quite a lot of runners out there presumably doing the same thing which was nice. A lot of walkers too, most of which I kept passing as I looped part of my route 4 times. Maybe next year I'll get a sub 1hr 40min, but like most of us we're not getting any younger!
My Dad and I walked through Werpe Park this evening while Tuttle Jnr swam with his club in Connahs Quay. Taylor, Not Swift came along too. I'd forgotten how nice the place was. Managed to get to Ewole Castle at the far end of the walk and had just enough time to get back to pick up Tuttle Jnr.
30,000 steps in total today. Burn baby, burn those calories!
