1,500 Blips!

This is my 1,500th blip - yay but where does the time go! I was going to do the numbers in stones on the patio given my work in the garden, but it's been a truly horrendous day weather wise. There's been continuous heavy rain since the early hours with a very strong northerly wind too (see my new moat in Extras). The weather station in Weybourne up the road has already recorded its wettest Sept day in 30 years and with wind speeds up to 52mph and gusts of up to 67mph! So no walk as planned this morning, even Holkham closed due to the forecast, and I didn't fancy a trip to get rid of the rubble either. Unfortunately there was a large pile of ironing waiting! PS: Only 6 smarties were harmed in the making of this blip!

Day 194 / Full Day 186 of Lockdown / Day 12 of Rule of Six (for my record only)
UK deaths up 35 to 41,937 (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 6.874, and with 1,616 patients in hospital (314 admitted on 23rd in Eng, up 72% from a week previously). The R number has risen again in the UK to 1.2-1.5 with new infections rising between 4% & 8% every day. The ONS estimates more than 103,000 in Eng had the virus w/e 19/9, up 72% from the previous week, with new daily infections of 9,600 (up from 6.000 last week) - highest levels are in the 17-24 year olds. A ban on visiting other households in homes or gardens has been announced for Blackpool, Wigan, Stockport and Leeds. Cardiff and Swansea to go into lockdown on Sunday. London has been added to the watchlist. Supermarkets are starting to put limits on key household essentials to prevent stockpiling. The Govt borrowed an astonishing £35.9bn in August, up over £30bn from the previous Aug and the 3rd highest monthly figure on record.
