Gentiana Acaulis Maxima

This is one very large gentian ..... no mat of small blue flowers with petals open and the heads pointing up to the sun. This large gentian is one of two that I spotted in Branklyn National Trust garden on the outskirts of Perth.

No standing tall for these big beauties as they laid their heads on the stony ground.

Prior to our visit to Branklyn we visited the pottery and ceramic market that was being held in the grounds of Scone Palace. Some beautiful, expensive items for sale .... I admired them and walked on in search of the peacocks.

We did see a couple of blues and one white. Not the best time of year for a showy display as the peacocks has lost their tail feathers but they still looked quite magnificent.

We had a lovely lunch at the Macmillan Gift and Coffee shop beside Quarrymill Woodland Park. Sunny enough to sit outside with our soup and goodies.
