Chough

We headed to Porthgwarra today and walked along the beautiful coast path to Nanjizal beach where we sat and watched the large waves breaking on the beach (see extra)

This section of the coastal path is a breeding area for the Chough which is a member of the crow family and restricted to western UK.   It is characterised by its red legs and beak.   There are apparently only 250-350 breeding pairs but we saw lots today.

I was lucky to catch this one in flight.

After our walk we headed home and arrived back at 9pm after a good journey
