Autumn Fruits

Don't children go scrumping anymore for apples or any other fruit? These 'windfalls' covered the ground by the side of the trail and the still seemed laden with fruit. I don't remember ever seeing as many acorns as this year. There was a part of the trail where we sliding on the carpet of acorns. Ah, the season of mellow fruitfulness.
A very cold, biting wind today. Started bright and has become very overcast and dark. Seems to soon to be hunkering down.
