Very Active Sloth!

Day three of our visit to Chester and we had to spend a day at the zoo.  We have been watching "The Secret Life of the Zoo" on Channel 4, so we felt that we had already met some of the animals.  For example we really like the episode about animal escapes; who knew that we would get so excited about going to see Wendy the Warty Pig!

However I did not know that they had a sloth.  He is not even shown on the zoo map.  Fortunately we went into the 'Spirit of the Jaguar' enclosure and there he was; climbing around the roof space.  He was very active, doing a few circuits before retiring into a tree.  Amazing to see the size of his claws.

Other highlights included the marmosets, the zebras and the young sun bear (extra photos) but there were many more.
