Corona Virus Update
Bahrain recorded 487 new cases, 3 fatalities and 662 recoveries today

Global Covid-19 death toll passes one million.
The first coronavirus-related death recorded was in the Chinese city of Wuhan on January 9.  The world recorded half a million deaths more than 24 weeks later, on June 28, and it took just a little over 13 weeks to double the figure.
Deaths in the US, Brazil and India make up nearly half that total. The US has the world's highest death toll with about 205,000 fatalities followed by Brazil on 141,700 and India with 95,500 deaths.
The pandemic has since spread to 188 countries with more than 32 million confirmed cases.

Confirmed infections in India have reached six million

Globally there are about 240 potential vaccines in early development, with 40 in clinical trials and nine in the final stage of testing on thousands of people.  The WHO has said it does not expect to see widespread vaccinations against Covid-19 until the middle of 2021.
