View from the Pass

Gordon's Birthday, so it had to be out for breakfast. Our favourite place on the A66 is not open on Tuesdays so, after he had had several Happy Birthday wishes from our youngest granddaughter, who just loves to send lots of emojis from her Mum's phone, we set off down to Windermere and Lakeland. Wonderful breakfast and then a bit of shopping. Amazingly we only left with the three things we had gone for - an ironing board (I know how to live!), a skillet to replace the one we had to give away when it would not work on our new induction hob and a very sturdy brownie tin.

After a misty start, it had turned into a lovely sunny morning, so we went down to the Lake, but soon turned round and returned after seeing all the people. We took the Kirkstone Pass route back and had wonderful views down to Ullswater, which when we got there was sparkling in the sunshine. Very busy everywhere as people made the most of the lovely day. We went home.

Warm enough to sit outside with my book when we got back.
