Autumn Almanac

Conkers, acorns and crab apples - picked up where they had fallen on a recent walk.

Another sign of autumn this afternoon at Tatton. We walked along to the sound of red deer stags bellowing, the rut is underway, All that testosterone seemed to have got some of the hinds a bit jittery, we bumped into individuals, some with youngsters, in unexpected places. One small group had decided the big mere was the safest option, confusing all the canada geese (extra).
