Aurora

This has to be today’s blip! We finally managed to see and capture the northern lights ( if only for about 10 minutes and very pale due to an almost full rising moon). We are quite a long way south so rarely get very big shows and this was just white flickering on the northern horizon about 11 pm. But still very exciting! Met a lovely young couple while out who were also looking. She was very chatty and wanted to know if our kids and grandkids (?) enjoyed star gazing with us.....her comment was ‘ I think it would be so cool to have parents who did this ...’ I must admit it made me feel rather old!!!! :):) 
Also saw an owl and the whole hour and and half in the dark was accompanied by the noise of these huge flocks of geese ( extra) as we were at the nature reserve nearby. It was quite magical!
