In front and behind

Eating lunch at RSPB Fairburn Ings when the sun came out.  So main view looking out towards the roadside lakes and the view in extra is partly what I saw when I turned around and the sun was glinting off the water.  We struggled to get a sense of the reserve as we hadn’t been before, but it was a good opportunity to scout out the lie of the land.  I used to walk around here with my uncle when I was quite young and well before it was made into a wildlife reserve.  A site created by mining subsidence and the proximity of the River Are & Calder.  (With my sister and her partner - we had a good outing.)
