First Real Squirrel ...

... in October!

And a very special squirrel at that!

Almost every time we come to North Carolina we like to make a special trip to Brevard, NC to see the white squirrels!  Yes ... white squirrels!

There are only a couple of places in the Unites States that have a white squirrel colony.  Brevard is one of them.  And we love coming here to see the white squirrels and visit the White Squirrel Shoppe! We are in Brevard for the night so hopefully we will see more tomorrow before heading back to Lake Lure. 

These white squirrels are not albino squirrels ... they are a variety of gray squirrels.  And we love them!!  Don't you!?!?
