Good Lucan man, good lookin’ oesophagus

Was quite confused when the consultant, completely out of the blue, enthusiastically described one of the patients as a “good lookin’ man” this morning. Took me quite a long time before realising that he meant a “good Lucan man”, ie from Lucan just outside county Dublin! (...Though I’m sure the patient wouldn’t have been too disappointed with either meaning!!)

Quote of the day was from an older gentleman, who on watching a video of his oesophagus to assess his swallow, exclaimed:
“Wow, I must say I have quite an attractive oesophagus!”

It’s always good to be able to appreciate God-given beauty, even in ourselves, and even in our oesophagus.
