Tom is very grumpy about his brother getting an iPhone for his birthday (it was my free upgrade) and has embarked on a fundraising campaign to get one for himself. He's building architectural models which has been very lucrative, but the project is coming to an end, so he's monetising his assets - DVDs, rehabilitating bookshelves and offering them for sale, and now as a painter and decorator.... doing a lovely job with this sunny yellow paint for a fraction of what I would have had to pay a professional.

The minimum wage only applies to school leavers and he's just 14, but for under 18s it is £3.68 an hour which is roughly 144 hours of work. Keep painting, Tom!
