The local wildlife

We are fortunate to live on the edge of the village with the old railway cutting at the end of our garden and an open field beyond that.  We do see deer in the field, and very occasionally in our garden.  This morning a young Roe (?) stopped right opposite our house and in one of the more clear sections - and stood long enough for me to fetch the camera and swap the lens.  This is a quick shot from our landing window.

I've been sorting out the lighting in our loft so we were passing things up the ladder when Gill noticed the deer, we might have missed it otherwise.

I ought to sort out a small hide or perhaps a netting screen as the field is also used by owls and the ground on this side of the fence is flat enough to sit comfortably and have a reasonable view.

In the extra, an elm tree we see on one of our walking routes which is showing some definite autumn colour.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.
