NO Bummlies.

I finally "unlidded" it. Not a bee in sight - BUT - two things.
Thing the 1st - possible Ratfestation, if that hole is any criterion.
I did see bees around it and was once chased away when I started to dig out some compost from lower down at the "exit door".
Thing the 2nd - the lid was hellish hard to get off and once I managed it that strange thing appeared on the surface.  It may become tomorrow's blip after a closer inspection.  I have NO idea what it is or how it got there.  It seems, in retrospect to, more or less, fit one of the sealing grooves and may account for the difficulty.

I might leave a Warfarin© present in there upon the morrow just to see.
