Done and dusted

My major goal today was to get myself to the local primary school to vote and home again.

Vote early, with no pressure, mission accomplished.

The privilege of living in a healthy democracy where I'm able to freely vote always brings a tear to my eye. A concussed brain is similar to a toddler or teenage brain and perhaps that's why I felt more emotional than usual this time.

I was first there so no queue. But the colour, line up of officials, voices, and visual stimulation was overwhelming. Everyone was helpful and I'm confident that I cast my electoral and referendum votes as intended.

And look, Te Reo on the sign too. I love that.

Today's gratitude: For the suffragettes who campaigned for women to vote in NZ.
