Farewell , Joan.

Today we received the news that Joan R our godson’s maternal grandmother had died early this morning in her sleep.

We had been anticipating this news for many weeks, and whilst it is sad, it is a blessed relief for Joan and for her daughters and family.

Joan was 99 years old and over the last two years she had been in considerable pain. She had been very well looked after in the nursing home where she lived. It is one of the few nursing homes where no one has contracted COVID.

Joan had trained and served as a nurse. Pat and I knew her for nearly 4 decades and she was always great company and a generous host.

We will all miss Joan.
