Plants, plants and more plants!

Dry today, apart from a couple of spots, literally, during the afternoon. I had a Keep Oban Beautiful friend round for a chat and we sat out on the deck in our waterproofs in an attempt to keep the chilly wind out! She is proposing a new initiative to get people out and about in these lockdown days, to stand outside their houses and ask themselves what could be done to make their house, their garden or their street more beautiful. We would like to get the people thinking about what can be done to improve the place, to meet their neighbours and maybe to help others to do the same, socially distancing, of course! This is really what Keep Oban Beautiful is all about.

My Blip today is of another member of family Gesneriaceae, the beautiful Seemannia gymnostoma, from  Bolivia, where it grows at an altitude of 2,500m. My extra is of its pal Seemannia nematanthodes 'Evita', which I Blipped the other day. Here it is in a trough on a windowsill.

Limerick of the Day:

The vicar of Charlton-All-Saints
Was beset with so many complaints
That he stopped eating bread
Drank no wine that was red
And endured many other restraints!
