Hodge Close

Today Lesley and I were rather lethargic suffering with a sneezy head cold and a poor nights sleep. We enjoyed staying in a good part of the day watching the birds and the beck from the lounge. They can keep me engaged for hours. We did venture out to Hawkeshead, the Relish shop and stock up on our jams and pickles etc. Following this we drove up to Hodge Close Quary for a stroll but was amazed to find so much of it now fenced off and the car parking reduced drastically. The silver birches in amongst the slate usually make wonderful colours in autumn. We just missed the flashes of sun that light up the trees.
We all ate at Three Shires in little Langdale this evening, another of our favourites didn't let us down.
