Autumn Colours over Barton House

Another in the series of RRDD (Regular Route, Different Day) we took a walk along our most regular route of Ardington and Lockinge (which we had somehow missed out on for a few weeks).

Again the air was lovely and clear; emphasising the colours and contrasts of the landscape.

It has been interesting to monitor this recently planted orchard area, of varied rare species of apple and pear.  In previous years the trees have been heavy with fruit.  However this year I have seen nothing.  I suspect that it was too hot and too dry at the wrong time.  However could it be a lack of pollination?  That would be worrying!
