Flight Deck

I visited the Bristol Aerospace museum this morning which has some very impressive exhibits and a close association with Rolls-Royce, where I worked for forty years until retiring earlier this year. As it happens I bumped into a former colleague/fellow retiree who has just started volunteer work there; we had a great catch up.

Anyway, it was difficult to resist posting an image of the star attraction but I have done so previously so it's added as an extra. This is the flight deck of the Bristol Type 175 Britannia, a medium-to-long-range built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company in 1952 to fly across the British Empire and popularly know as The Whispering Giant. It turns out that only 85 Britannias were built before production ended in 1960.
