Gare de Lyon Tower

I took this shot from the 57 Bus as it made its usual speedy left turn onto the bridge you see, with the Gare de Lyon (Lyon Station) in the background. The tower is a minor landmark in Paris and this view gives the best perspective. (I cropped the image only very minimally left and right using the perspective option, to render the buildings and the tower more vertical.) It's more impressive viewed large.

We were on our way to the Marché d'Aligre, a very upscale market just northeast of the station. After our friend Cynthia made her purchases we returned home to pack. Later in the afternoon we went to the Pompidou Center; the line was impossible, so we just admired it from the outside--lots happening all around. We returned on a 47 Bus that was perhaps the most crowded we've ever encountered here. The crowds everywhere were doubtless the result of the first pleasant Saturday in quite a while.
