Brewery Restaurant--Lille

This morning we took a TGV (French fast train) north from Paris to Lille, arriving in an hour. It's near the Belgian border, and tomorrow we will meet a British tour group at the railroad station for a four-day birding tour of Belgium (I'll try to post bird blips!).

We had lunch in the city center at Les Trois Brasseurs, a brewery restaurant (I had a wonderful dark beer--though it didn't approach Guinness :) We were on the first floor, looking down on this old boil kettle which graces the entrance. (I poked around on the net to find the appropriate term for it--see the caption to the illustration part way down in this Wiki article--what would we do without them?)

The main activity in the afternoon was the Palais des Beaux Arts (the fine arts museum). I would say (reluctantly) that it was somewhat disappointing.
