fungi

After our daily walk to Routin Brig, admiring the trees, monitoring the changing colours of their leaves and looking vainly for salmon, I took a wander around the woods (slowly, and very carefully, because crutches weren't made for this) and looked for some fungi to photograph. These were growing out of a fallen silver birch trunk. I'm not sure if I prefer the black and white or the colour version (extra).

Recently, I enjoyed reading an article by Alastair Humphries about how he has coped with the limitations which the present pandemic has placed on his (usually considerable) activities. He describes how he has taken to going on a walk ("a measly walk"!) every day at dusk, with his DSLR, shooting only black and white photographs and not processing them at all.
