Daisies

This is a bit of an emergency blip because I've just sat down after a full on day and realised it is getting dark.  Tony rescued some purple and pink daisies from the hanging baskets last year and managed to keep them going over winter.  He replanted them in my tub by the kitchen door months ago and they are still going strong and just lovely.  So here they are zapped!

The day began with a loaf in the breadmaker; the scrubbing of the radiator in preparation for painting; the chopping of veggies for two batches of tomato soup.  We had a run around the moors followed by showers and lunch, then Tony went up to the allotment to harvest the remaining potatoes.

I watched a dunnock exploring the remains of the meadow for some time till it flew off and then went out to the patio to set to work on Neighbour D's bike which had a puncture.  What should have been a quick job turned in to something of a marathon as the gearing system was chock full of gunk and I soon became covered in ancient grease which then transferred to door handles and cupboards as I dug out my bike cleaning stuff.  I pumped up the okay tyre and spotted bubbling, aaagh!  Now both tyres were off and both inner tubes checked for punctures.  There was the tiniest sliver of glass in the second tyre.  So two and a half hours later, gear system looking cleaner if not perfect, chain scrubbed, tyres back on and pumped up, puncture mended and the bike was ready to be returned, but in need of a full service!  Time for a coffee and a Tunnocks!

Tony returned with three sacks of potatoes to store, another good harvest.
