Hawfinch

This male hawfinch has been frequenting a garden in Stromness for several days and the householder was kind enough to allow me access. It is the first I've seen- they are not at all common in Scotland and this one is a migrant attracted by the many feeders that are in the garden. It is feasting on nyjer seeds and there were 20+ goldfinch, sparrows and a brambling there too.
