New view

This is a view of part of the RSPB bird reserve at Leighton Moss. A place very familiar to us but I do not recall photographing it before from this position.

The Reserve is now open in part with a one way system. The birds of course have no conception of what their human admirers are going through.

One of the special attractions at the moment are the Bearded Tits. You need to get there early in the morning for the best chance of seeing them.

The extra is I believe young Splendid Waxcap. Hygrocybe splendidissima. This is not very common and not too easy to distinguish from a similar more common species. My id arises from expert friends who did a more scientific examination and concluded that it grows in this particular area.
