Intreging Edinburgh Statue - Anyone Know Where?

I was quite delighted when I found this whimsical wee statue in Edinburgh New Town.

I was in that area again and was early and it was a bright, sunny, autumn morning so I sought them out.

They might be a memorial, I hope they are more a memory - a parent wanting the memory of their children as children, reading together, carefree to be forever captured but the children are now grown-up - indeed are now grandparents themselves.

That's my musings on this wee gem. There is no plaque or info and the building it is outside looks residential to me.
